Home Theater Systems

Home theater provides an added audio dimension to your television viewing. Ordinary TV's have one speaker (1 channel sound) and stereo TV's have two speakers (2 channel sound). Dolby 3 uses three speakers - the center channel for dialogue and other sounds which should appear to come directly from the screen, plus the left and right main channels for giving added width (left to right) to the soundtrack for a total of 3 channels of sound.

With Dolby Pro Logic or Surround Sound, two more speakers are added - the left and right rear (or surround sound) speakers - to provide additional depth so that you are surrounded by sound -- front (left, right and center) and rear (4 sound channels).  In Pro Logic, the stereo signal is used to synthesize the surround sound channels.  If you wish, you may add a subwoofer for resounding bass frequencies.

Dolby Digital (or AC-3) provides 5 discrete channels of sound (left main, right main, center, left rear and right rear) plus a subwoofer channel. The surround channels (left and right rear) are independent to provide stereo for added dimension.  THX is a seal of approval for home theater systems from LucasFilms.

We use a number of components from different manufacturers to construct your home theater. These include audio components, speakers, video displays, distribution equipment and remote control equipment.
